Ingredients
- 20 large jalapeno peppers
- 1 pound thick-sliced bacon
- 1 pound Italian sausage, uncased
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temp
- Toothpicks
- Liquid smoke or chipotle sauce
- Preheat the oven to 450F
- Prep the jalapenos by cutting off the stems and splitting them in half lengthwise. Remove the membrane and seeds inside.
- Roast jalapenos in the oven for 20min and let cool
- Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Drain the excess oil and combine the sausage with the cream cheese, add liquid smoke to taste
- Take two jalapeno halves, stuff them with this sausage-cream cheese filling, and then sandwich them together.
- Wrap in bacon and secure with toothpicks.
- Place the bacon wrapped jalapenos in the oven for about 15 minutes.
Turn them once so that the bacon browns evenly.
