Duplicati - backup software
https://www.duplicati.com/
I know, I know, I'm taking it easy here with the low hanging fruit of backup software. I mean, it's the rock star of the software world, on the forefront of everyone's mind. Or not.
Anyway, I've been using Duplicati for quite awhile now. It's running on my Windows laptop as well as my Linux machines. It's super easy to use, and you can target a local drive (I used a USB drive that's fully encrypted using Veracrypt) or a vast array of online storage.
Whaaaat? Local USB thumb drive for backup? Is this 2005? After the initial data seed to the cloud (AWS S3 in my case) it doesn't very long at all to do more online backups. But I'm quite often working from weird locations where I'm tethering from my phone, and I want to be as careful as I can about burning through data, so I use the local USB.
Anyway, check out the site linked above for more info and may get a copy for yourself. Did I mention that it's FOSS?
